Margaritas and tacos and live music, oh my! Cinco de Mayo is Saturday, May 5 and we have your guide to the best spots to celebrate right here in Wauwatosa.

BelAir Cantina, 6817 W. North Ave.

BelAir Cantina is pulling out all the stops for Cinco de Mayo, making it into a two-day celebration. The party starts at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4 and continues when BelAir opens early at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 5.

Los Plebes de la Sierra will play from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday and again from 6 to 7 p.m. on Saturday. There will also be $5 Cinco Margaritas de la mañana a la noche!

Mo’s Irish Pub, 10842 W. Bluemound Road

At Mo’s, they’re calling it Drinko de Mayo. “No time for a siesta, it’s time for a fiesta!” reads their website. From 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5 to 2 a.m. Sunday, May 6, the Mo’s party will feature “mo-garitas” and Mexican beer specials, live music and free chips and salsa with the purchase of an entree.

Taqueria El Jefe, 11200 W. Burleigh Street

Tequila and Mexican beer tastings will be offered all day on Cinco de Mayo at Taqueria El Jefe. And if that’s not reason enough to stop by, it’s not too late to register for the “Eat life a Jefe” taco eating contest at 7 p.m.

Contestants will each receive eight tacos, and the winner will receive a $100 gift card.
